Transitional Spaces

Started thinking about this as a subject for a project a while ago, last September to be exact when I was photographing interior house stories in Berlin with Victoria from Style NV. Most of the homes we shot were, because of the architecture of the city, in purpose built apartment buildings, or converted from buildings originally used as office/industrial space. As such all of these buildings have communal entrances and hallways, places which you pass through to somewhere else. Some are more loved than others but all had a similar vibe.  For me, being an interiors & lifestyle photographer they are usually a place to prepare for what is awaiting you on the other side of the door you are about to pass through. But in truth it’s a place to think, whichever way you are travelling, in or out. Transitional spaces as a photographic subject matter isn’t unique, so here’s my point of view, hope you like them. The first few I have shot on my iPhone so please excuse the quality, they will get better …………
