This was the first time I worked closely with Graham (Graham did a shoot for another interiors design project I had been involved with but we didn’t work directly together). Graham was my preferred choice as he has an impressive portfolio of past interior design projects which he has photographed. His portfolio is diverse and shows Graham really captures the mood and personality of the property he is photographing, which was particularly important for the photos we wanted.
Graham was a real pleasure to work with and was happy to take direction on the shots we wanted to capture, he also gave great advice throughout the planning and shoot of the commission. He has an excellent eye for detail which gave me real confidence the quality of the images we would be getting.
I look forward to working with Graham again.
Ella Barwick – Senior Interior Designer, NuHu Developments.
Graham Atkins-Hughes is, without doubt, the most talented interior photographer and filmmaker I have worked with here in my current role and as Creative Director at French Connection Home. His ability to create, capture and deliver mood is outstanding, his total ease and expertise behind the camera is inspirational. Coupled with that he is a pleasure to work with, always ensuring client needs and expectations are beyond met. I highly recommend Graham, for his fantastic work and being a brilliant team member.
Lorraine Brennan – Director of Brand Development, Home, Lifestyle & Luxury Accessories, Disney Corp.
Graham is a very talented interiors photographer who I have had the pleasure of working with for 10 years within my previous role at Dulux, AkzoNobel. He is collaborative, creative and always dives into a brief fully to ensure he understands the objective and brand vision. He always enlists a strong team and creates a good working environment when collaborating with other freelancers. Graham is a strong problem solver too, always looking for creative solutions to complex or challenging situations. I really hope to work together again in the future.
Rebecca Williamson Marketing Manager – Colour & Design at Dulux, Akzo Nobel UK.
Graham is a fantastically professional and creative interior photographer. Over a period of four years working with him on a number of large and complex interiors shoots, he has proven his worth time and time again. What I particularly like is his flexibility and ability to think on his feet when faced with a problem. This combined with the fact that he’s a joy to be around makes Graham my first port of call for any interior photo shoot.
Beth Hendry – Senior Account Manager at Springetts Brand Design
Working with Graham has always been a pleasure and for interior features, he is my photographer of choice. He has an intuitive sensibility for capturing the story of an interior; his approach is professional, reliable and beyond involved. Technically, his photography is flawless and he has a way of capturing light that is beautiful and always uncontrived.
Claire Bingham – Design Journalist & Author
‘Graham is a fantastic interior photographer, with such a wealth of experience that he can turn his hand to anything. Highly creative, with a meticulous eye for detail and a great problem solver, you can understand why Graham is so internationally renowned. As a stylist and writer, I have worked with Graham on a great number of house features including the MacDonald Wright house and he is always a pleasure to work with.’
Victoria Tunstall – Interiors Writer & Stylist
Graham is a very talented interior photographer, and (maybe more importantly) a very easy-going and likable person.
‘We hired Graham based on the quality of his prior work catalogue. Photographing interiors is a very specific skill set, but he is so calm and congenial from the outset that I was confident he would do a really excellent job.
He was clear on establishing our goals for the shoot and tailoring his shoot to what we wanted from it. He visited the site ahead of shoot day to get a really good understanding of the space, and I appreciated that enormously. He also showed roughs and discussed his ideas for angles and presentation, which were informative and eye-opening.
Would I work with Graham again? – absolutely. Professional, congenial, clear; everything I would want in this context, and much appreciated.’
Jemimah Barrnett – Independent Property Adviser & Acquisition Specialist
Graham was one of the key interior and lifestyle photographers that I used both at Selfridges and Marks and Spencer. I shot with him in the UK and on extended location trips overseas – he even coped with shooting at -35ºc in the Arctic Circle. He is a brilliant photographer, ahead of the trend and always pushing boundaries. He is also fun to work with: considerate, down to earth and with a great sense of humor. He even managed to take a good photo of me for my editor’s shot (see above) so he must be good!

Graham has a focus and determination that is absolutely key when trying to rush through a busy interior photo shoot day. He is able to manage client expectations and juggle a team very successfully. He has the right balance between moving a shoot forward whilst also listening to the client’s requirements. Thanks to Graham’s focus, we have consistently managed to achieve a surprisingly high number of shots per day, which has a very positive impact on the budget. If you’re looking for a talented driven interior photographer you’ve found them, couldn’t recommend Graham more highly.
Jo Israelsohn – Managing Director @ Portrait Communications

I’ve worked with Graham Atkins Hughes for most of my career. From Conran to Marks & Spencer he shoots with great craftsmanship and quality. I use many of his books for inspiration for many of our interior projects. He understands the high-level brands we work with at Axon and has helped us develop the visual handwriting we use when working with these brands.
Lisa Clarke – Creative Director @ Axon Publishing
“I have worked with Graham many times over the years and always find his work to be outstanding. In my previous role as UK Colour & Design Manager for Dulux, Graham was an asset in creating the right tone of brand photography for our colour guide and PR. His style lends itself well to creating the open, inspiring yet accessible imagery we aimed to create. Since moving to a global role in trend forecasting I have also worked with Graham to create higher-end imagery which conveys specific trend stories. For this project, we demand different moods of photography which fit the trend; something that Graham is willing and talented in providing. As ever, I look forward to working with Graham in the future.”
Louise Smith – Senior Global Designer @ Akzo Nobel
“Graham Atkins Hughes has an extensive, impressive and inspiring portfolio. We put together an exceptional team over an incredibly tight schedule to shoot in excess of 50 major shots in 2 weeks. Graham’s experience was instrumental in creating a superb set of images but what made this all the more rewarding was his professional attitude, commitment and sense of fun. I have absolutely no hesitation in endorsing Graham’s work.”
