more inspiration from Berlin, I saw this Photomat on the roundabout @ Kottbusser Tor on the way to shoot Lizzy’s apartment on our last day shooting in Berlin, I especially loved the examples of what one could achieve using this remarkable piece of photo equipment, goes to show that with any camera the possibilities are endless

Today is the last day of our trip to Berlin I have been here now for 4 days shooting new unseen interiors with Victoria Metcalf from Style NV, the images will soon be ready to be seen so check back in the next few weeks and they will be here to view in the sites newest development a PDF gallery of homes which I have shot for publication. While we are awaiting that to happen I thought I would post these images from East Berlin which is fast disappearing, a huge ammount of development is happening and so much has changed since I was last here shooting for Esprit about 5 years ago. just got back from a well deserved family holiday in france, while there i read this really interesting book turning intelligence into magic by john hegarty creative director of BBH as anyone who knows about advertising will tell you about john’s illustrious career before and during the life of BBH began. it was so interesting reading john’s perspective on the creative process which has gone into some of advertising’s most memorable campaigns, the insights are valuable for anyone in the advertising/creative industries or indeed anyone in business i will be recommending this to all my freinds

Anyone who lives in Hackney will tell you stories about something wonderful they have found on the street, on their way to and from home. That’s how we came across these beautiful chairs - they were in need of a lot of TLC and some new webbing! Jo found them by the roadside one day, on her way home from our boys school, we then sourced some super cheap cotton velvet in Foy & Co near Cowbridge just outside Cardiff, and then got Mike a friend of Jo’s parents to do a great job of creating the beautiful cushions for them. The shots above are from two of the interior / lifestyle shoots by Graham, in which they’ve been used. On the left for SpaceNK and on the right is an Alexander McQueen designed rug, for The Rug company for their collection magazine & blog. Myself and Jo spent a very interesting evening yesterday watching a live web stream of Sir Ken Robinson speaking last night @ Learning without Frontiers , Ken is a very entertaining & erudite speaker about the current crisis in education in our country and the western worlds model of what is considered to be a good education. I have see Ken talk online before at TED links here & here both are well worth spending time watching for any one who cares about the future and the next generation, because it’s going to be the next generation who can get us out of the mess we are in, new free thinkers is what we all need. The evening was hosted by Learning without Frontiers another interesting site to visit for more inspirational stuff, from inspirational people. I have read Ken’s book The Element after I had listen to him the first time, it’s amazing well worth a read, it reminded me how lucky I am to have found photography a job/passion I truly love doing
